Archaeology Notes

NJ06SW 22 unlocated

A mould for a bronze leaf-shaped and tanged spearhead from the Culbin Sands is in the Royal Museum of Scotland (RMS, formerly the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS]) (CM 21). (The precise find-spot is not recorded; the sands cover a large area westwards along the coast from Findhorn Bay.)

J M Coles 1966

Walker considers that this mould, purchased in 1893, is half of a bivalve mould for a Class I razor.

I C Walker 1974.
