Archaeology Notes

NJ06SW 21 unlocated

Two flint arrowheads and a fragmentary bronze socketed spearhead from the Culbin Sands were donated to NMAS in 1868. This spearhead and 'parts of three lance-heads of bronze' are noted in the collection of material from the Culbin Sands (BI 25, 150-3) in 1892, but are now lost. Walker suggests that the 'lance-heads' were possibly halberds as they were differentiated from the spearhead but not called daggers.
