Archaeology Notes

NJ86SW 45 8288 6218

(Location cited as NJ 8288 6218 and name as Ram's Well, Tore of Troup). Air photography (AAS/00/03/G10/1 and AAS/00/03/CT/118-19, flown 3 February 2000) has recorded the remains of a small rectangular structure (probably a house) above the steep slope of a small promontory above the Tore of Troup, at an altitude of 170m OD. There is a possible, very reduced enclosure attached to it.

NMRS, MS/712/62.

NJ 826 611 Remains of hut circle survive as low grass-covered circular feature on promontory above the Tore.

M Greig 2000.
