Archaeology Notes

NN83SE 23 centred 8830 3183.

Aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1996) has revealed the remains of a township consisting of at least four unroofed buildings and three enclosures 310m WNW of Newton House (NN83SE 5). Each enclosure has an adjoining building and a field wall connects all these features. The farmstead is not depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxxxiii) but three unroofed buildings and three enclosures are shown on the 1:10000 map (1977).
