(HY 2375 0523) Brough {NR}
OS 6" map, Orkney, 2nd ed.,(1903).
A raised or artifical mound.
Name Book 1880.
Although large boulders visible among the turf indicate that the site was formerly occupied by a stone structure of considerable size, there is no clear evidence that they represent the remains of a broch.
RCAHMS 1946, visited 12 July 1929.
There is a sub-rectangular stone structure at HY 2375 0523 which measures approx. 6.0m. x 13.0m internally. All that remains are three of the walls, which have been utilised to form the sides of a silage pit. The site is occupied by a number of last war naval buildings. As this stone structure appears to be the one mentioned by RCAHMS then it is certainly not a broch.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (RB) 18 September 1964.

near Bu of Hoy HY 2375 0523 HY20NW 21
A 'raised or artificial mound' noted in 1880 at the clifftop overlooking Burra Sound has been so mutilated by wartime buildings and a silage pit as to be beyond classification; but it seems too insubstantial to represent the remains of a broch.
RCAHMS 1989, visited September 1964.
(Name Book, Orkney, No. 10, p. 51; RCAHMS 1946, ii, p.112, No. 386; OR 1913).
