Archaeology Notes

(NH 9412 2052) Cairn (NR)

OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1903)

A small cairn of stones close to the footpath between Drumullie and Carrbridge.

Name Book 1871.

The original 1870, 1970 1:2500, and also the 1:10.000, position of this cairn is in error. It is situated at NH 9404 2054. It is a disturbed heap of stones, partially overgrown, measuring c. 10.0m in diameter and 0.6m high. There is little doubt that it is sepulchral.

Resurveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (R L) 2 November 1966 and (A A) 18 April 1974.

Activities

Field Visit (25 September 1943)

Cairn, Drummuilie.
