(NH 8088 9223) The old castle of Embo, seat of the Gordons of that Ilk gave way in 1767 to the present Embo House which is now used as a farm-house.

No local information about the castle. The present house is in good condition, with its S front of considerable architectural merit. According to the wife of the owner, a preservation order was placed on it in the 1950's.
