Rubble-built with roughly dressed quoins and jambs. Entrance with window to west on south elevation. Surviving part thatched.
Keils represents a surprisingly complete crofter township with good example of the development of building techniques in the 19th century. (Historic Scotland)
Images taken by the West of Scotland Archaeology service show thatch was intact over the mostly westerly section upto relatively recently.
