(NH 8075 6733) Fiddler's Well (NAT)

Fiddler's Well is traditionally said to be a healing well. It is named after a man named Fiddler.

New Statistical Account (NSA, written by H Miller - 1836) 1845; G Mackenzie 1958.

A dry, artificial hole at NH 8075 6733 is presumably Fiddler's Well. It measures 2.0m by 0.6m by 0.5m deep. There is no sign of stone work and the bottom is choked with rotting vegetation.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.

Visited by OS (J B) 16 January 1978.
