Westcraigs Inn, Westcraigs, c.1790
Former temple to coaching. Huge three-storey inn, substantial hostelry. Stringcourse, confident symmetry of the façade, huge central bay with three-part windows above an enormous corniced and Doric-pilastered recessed porch. Coach traffic gone but harl returned. Special needs housing with library, community centre and museum in the stables behind. Conversion by West Lothian Council supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
