Archaeology Notes

NH85NE 30 8906 5658.

A barbed-and-tanged flint arrowhead was found about 1960 at NH 8906 5658 by Mr Macdonald (P Macdonald, 52 Merryton Cresent, Nairn) whilst working in his back garden. As the top soil in his garden came from a quarry at NH 900 329, it is uncertain whether the arrowhead in fact came from there.

Divorced survey at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (R L) 12 January 1971.

The arrowhead is now in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS, Accession no: AD 2301).

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1962.
