Archaeology Notes

NM65NW 35 6100 5781

An area of peat cuttings, which is visible on vertical aerial photographs (RAF 106G/Scot/UK/101 frame 3178, 19 May 1946) to the SW of a ruined farmstead ( ) was noted during a pre-afforestation survey of the NE part of the Drimnin estate. The peat cuttings, which are difficult to trace in an area of heather-covered hummocky ground, measure approximately 6m across.
