NH84NW 11 c. 81 48

A chapel was discovered at Galcantray a few years ago by the farmer in reclaiming some land.

G Bain 1893.

There is no local knowledge of a chapel in the area of Wester or Easter Galcantray.

Visited by OS (NKB) 13 August 1964.

No identifiable traces survive of a chapel in this vicinity, which is said to have been revealed by ploughing before 1893; local tradition records the former existence of a graveyard at NH 810 483.
