Archaeology Notes

NH84NE 18 874 460.

(NH 8730 4602) Possible fort, accompanied by what appear to be hut-circles or enclosures, mainly stretching along the ridge to the east.

Visible on RAF air photographs CPE/Scot/UK/184: 5393-4, flown 9 October 1946 and F21/58/RAF/1116: 0125-6, flown 8 May 1953.

There is no fort or hut-circles in the area indicated on air photographs but on the ridge centred at NH 874 460 are several stone clearance heaps of a type usually associated with hut-circles.
