Activities

Field Visit (1998)

Two buildings, a mill and a shed, are aligned parallel to the coast and separated by a mill pond. The mill is 12m long by 7m wide and stands up to 4m high at the gable ends. The walls are constructed from dressed and regularly coursed stone. It is located 15m from the coast edge. There is a single door in the landward side wall and there is a slot for an undershot wheel at the north end. The shed measures 6m by 4m and stand up to 1.2m high. It is located 8m from the coast edge. The mill pond, measuring 8m across, is now filled in, though the area remains marshy.
