Archaeology Notes

NT72SE 47 c. 7723 2084 to c. 7725 2105

The faint cropmarks of a pit-alignment has been revealed by oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1995) stretching over two fields 600m W of Heavyside farmsteading. It is slightly curved, aligned N-S and visible for at least 220m (NT c.7723 2084 to NT c.7725 2105). The alignment appears to intersect the ditch of a possible settlement (NT72SE 46) halfway along its length.

Information from RCAHMS (KJ) 20 August 1999.
