Site of Cairn (NR) Human Remains found 1811.

OS 6" map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1907)

Woodham (1956) could find no trace of this cairn site. The cairn was removed in 1811 when 'human bones of a gigantic size' were found in it.

Name Book 1871; New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845; A A Woodham 1956.

Published site in an area of afforestation. No trace.

'Ruined cairn'. No details given.

No remains were found at the cairn site S of Grey Cairn, as marked on the 6-inch OS map, and the place need not be revisited.

In 1811 a cairn, situated 1.2km WSW of Glenurquhart farmhouse, was removed, revealing 'human bones of a gigantic size'.
