Archaeology Notes

HU69SW 21 6129 9278.

At HU 6127 9282, on the highest point of Stackaberg, is a large cairn c.16.0m in diameter, and 1.2m maximum height. There are traces of a kerb, but no internal features are visible. It has been robbed and exists as a turf covered mound of rubble stones.

RCAHMS surveyed Craigbirnoch hut circles and field system on 21 May 1986 with plane-table and alidade at a scale of 1:1000.
