Stone and Cairn [NAT]
OS 1:10,000 map, 1972.
Small cairn.
NMRS, MS/712/39.
The 1972 edition of the OS 1:10,000 map depicts this feature immediately NW (on the Towie side) of the boundary between the parishes of Towie and Leochel-Cushnie, which it presumably indicated.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 6 April 1999.
This cairn is situated on a gentle N-facing slope in moorland at an altitude of about 510m OD.
NMRS, MS/712/38.
This boundary stone is situated on top of a modern cairn of boulders in the saddle between Craiglea Hill to the SW and Scar Hill to the NE. The cairn measures about 2m in diameter and 1m in height. The granite boundary stone is rectangular in section and round-headed in the profile of its faces, measuring 0.46m in breadth by 0.18m in thickness and 0.68m in height. The letter B is incised on its ENE face, standing for the Brux Estate. On the WSW face there is the letter T set above a symbol that resembles a letter C with a horizontal bar extending through its left side. The letter T stands for Tillypronie, but the meaning of the symbol is unknown.
Visited by RCAHMS (JRS), 3 June 1998.
