Archaeology Notes

NJ26SE 92 c. 263 633

Metal detecting in agricultural ground around Scotstonhill Cottage has recovered the following metal objects (which are held in Elgin Museum): eight pieces of metal forming part of a gun-cover and a small gun, a lead head (possibly that of Bacchus), a poor-quality coin [for which no identification is cited], half a plaid brooch, a 'luchenbooth' [luckenbooth] brooch with no pin, and a small lead dagger-handle.
