Archaeology Notes

NG87SW 27 8136 7363

A possible building and enclosure, lying in deep bracken on the E side of a small knoll, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey by J Wordsworth. The building measures 9m from NW to SE by 4m with drystone walls standing up to 1m in height. A c.20m square drystone enclosure lies to the NE. Mature lime trees grow on the length of this wall.

J Wordsworth (Wordsworth Archaeological Services) 5 October 1997; NMRS MS 961/23, no.13
