This Royal Navy WW II Radio Station is situated at the end of the track which runs N from Mangersta to the coast.
One brick and concrete building is extant along with several hut bases on the high point which is above the modern Civil Aviation (CAA) building. The site was Royal Navy property until 1946 when it was taken over by the CAA.
J Guy 2002; NMRS MS 810/12, 27-31.
The radio/radar station is visible on vertical air photographs (CPE/Scot/ UK 186, 2405-2406, flown 9 Ocotber 1946) situated on the headland at Leum a' Bhreabadair, Ard More Mangersta.
Visible on the air photographs is what may be the Transmitter/Receiver block (c. NB 0046 3325), a small hut at c. NB 00511 33173 and a group of four Nissen huts at NB 00659 32991. A further structure with a track leading from it in a NW direction to the road, is at c. NB 0068 3275. No masts can be seen on the 1946 air photographs.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have added several new buildings since they took over ownership of the site.
