Archaeology Notes

NS62NE 44 c. 692 263

This station was opened on 9 August 1848 as the terminus of the Muirkirk branch of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Rly. (later absorbed into the Glasgow and South-Western Rly). It was replaced in 1896 by the station NS62NE 45 and is not noted on the OS 1:10,560 map of 1897.
