Archaeology Notes

One partially roofed, two roofed buildings and a two compartment enclosure are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xl). Three unroofed buildings and an incomplete enclosure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992).

Keanstruie 2 NH 665 838 NH68SE

Three deserted cottages situated among enclosures in cleared ground 1.1 km NW of Little Daan. One of the cottages shows evidence of two phases of clay-mortar construction with later lime-mortar pointing; the other two are of dry-stone construction.
