Dunvegan. Macleod estate village replacing an earlier settlement around the Castle. Various simple buildings designed or altered by Alexander Ross (contractors: Messrs Joass) include: Dunvegan Hotel, 1868-9 (a temperance hotel until 1947), and the Estate Office (Dunvegan House), early 19th century, the factor's house and later post office, altered and extended 1875. Pier, 1865 (succeeding Telford's just to south of 1815).

(Location cited as NG 247 483). Pier, Dunvegan, built c 1820. A short drystone rubble pier, with wooden rubbing piles. There are single-storey stores on the pier and at its landward end.
