Field Visit (September 1978)

Achnacloich 2 NH 668 738 NH67SE 14 and 16

What may be the remains of a cairn are situated 75m SE of Achnacloich. The mound, which has had recent field-gathered stones added to it, contains a possible cist measuring 0.85m from NNW to SSE by 0.5m transversely and 0.4m deep. This may be the site where three cists containing inhumations were found before 1874.

RCAHMS 1979, visited September 1978

(Name Book, Ross-shire, no. 2, p. 24; Watson 1904, 71)
