Built originally for the Edinburgh Exhibition Association in 1922, this building was converted into a corporation depot for Edinburgh's buses in 1934. Its frontage onto Annandale Street is built from red facing brick with ashlar red sandstone dressings, and is symmetrical, comprising a pair of outer pedimented bays, and a central two-storeyed office flanked by large rectangular entrances (with concrete margins) for the vehicles. There is also a large centrally-located circular glass dome set back from the frontage. At the time of the RCAHMS photographic survey in 2000, the depot was still used by Edinburgh's buses, which were operated by 'Lothian Buses', an independent company jointly owned by City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian Councils.
