When visited on 8th September, 1954, this site was under crop, but the farmer stated that his predecessor had removed the cairn, and that no trace of it remained.
The Name Book (1875) described it as a large cairn of stones which had never been opened, but which was traditionally associated with a battle fought in the neighbourhood.
