Gardens on the rocky, steeply sloping site, started by Valentine Smith, with subsequent phases of work adding to a range of exotic shrubs, plants and trees. The woodland garden retains its Edwardian style, with natural water features and particularly fine rhododendrons.

Luxuriant garden, well stocked with species rhododendron and midges. Kitchen garden to the W, its late 19th century walls partly of concrete and partly of brick. On its S side a broad-eaved cottage designed by Samuel Barham, the estate clerk of works, in 1874.
