Field Visit (24 April 2008)

NJ 9537 0543 Torry Valve House (NJ90NE 30), 20th century. Constructed in 1905, this is a standing structure

and still currently in use as the main valve for the siphon tunnel that carries waste water from the city to the outfall at Nigg Bay. The current condition of this feature is stable and no changes are predicted before the proposed development programme.

Cait McCullagh and John Wood (Highland Archaeology Services Ltd), 2008
