Shaft/Mine Details: 2 shafts, No. 2 104m (downcast with forcing fan) and No. 3 102m deep (upcast at Foulshiels).

Details in 1948: Output 620 tons per day, 155,000 tons per annum, longwall working. 675 employees. 3 screens. Jig and feldspar washer (Dickson and Mann, installed 1912). Baths (1930), canteen (packed meals), and first-aid room. All electricity generated at mine. Report dated 30-07-1948.

Other Details: New power station built in 1891, resulting in an early example of the introduction of electric haulage, coal cutting and lighting underground in Scotland. Fans at Loganlea forced air into the mine (known as a 'forcing fan' in Scotland and a 'blowing fan' in England and Wales), the upcast shafts being at Foulshiels and Woodmuir (NS96SE 10)nearby.
