Shaft/Mine Details: 2 shafts, Quarter1 at NS 7386 5173, and Quarter 2 at NS 7447 5172 (NS75SW 31). Surface mine at Quarter 5 (NS 7413 5148), known as 5A, sunk in 1947, but closed in 1950.

Details in 1948: Output 115 tons per day, 27,445 tons per annum, pillar and stall working. 98 employees. Plate tables for screening [mechanically driven arrangement of fixed bars or perforated steel sheet for grading coal by size]. No washer [no equipment for wet cleaning of coal as part of coal preparation]. No baths, canteen or medical facilities, but nurse in village. DC electricity, none from public supply. Report dated 19-08-1948.

Other Details: Quarter 1, 2 (NS75SW 31) and 5 were linked by a triangular arrangement of surface mineral railways (between 1 and 5), and a tramway between 5 and 2 (NS75SW 31).
