Site Management (25 May 2011)

Single pitch rubble bothy with former boiler house (to heat vinery) and wallhead chimney stacks. Glazed single pitch greenhouse (Vinery) with late l9th century cast-iron brattishing to its south.

John Clerk's topographical print of Banff reveals the walled garden in present form with 2 lean-to greenhouses against S facing wall. Garden formerly within Duff House policies, but now separated by modern road. Bricks retained heat, conserving warmth in S facing walls for fruit growing. Bricks probably came from the late l8th century Blackpots Brick and Tile works, Whitehills. (Historic Scotland)
