A sales brochure of 4 October 1932 provides particulars of Mill of Wardes Farm(lot 31, pp. 24-5) including details of the farmhouse and the steading. The house comprised a kitchen, a milk house, a scullery and seven other rooms. The steading comprised a barn and mill with loft and granary, two stables for a total of eight horses, two byres for a total of fifty-four cattle, a turnip house, a two-bay cart shed, a water wheel, two implement houses, a tool shed, a store and two fowl houses. In addition, Beechrow Cottage (NJ63SW 65.01) was also included in the farm let; it contained four rooms and a kitchen.
In 1932 the farm was let to Mr James Morrison; at that time the size of the farm was about 150 acres (61 ha) and its rent was ?193 per annum.

On the 1797 plan of Nether Bottom (E 33934 and E 33935 CN) a group of buildings annotated 'Mill of Wardhouse' is depicted near this location. Two buildings are next to a mill lade, and four others are grouped SW of them. It appears that the mill lade was taken from the un-named burn, now a drain, which joined the Kellock from the SW. The exact location of the buildings is difficult to ascertain, however, because the course of the burn has been altered.
