NH56NE 3 c. 5747 6563

Location formerly entered as NH 574 656.

In the stackyard at Swordale there is a flat stone, four feet long by three broad, one side of which is covered with cup marks and other artificial hollows and channels. It is of sandstone.

ISSFC 1885.

The grieve at Swordale knew nothing of such a stone, nor could it be found in the stackyard centred at NH 5747 6563.

No further information.

A slab decorated with 'cup marks and other artificial hollows and channels was recorded in the stackyard at Swordale in 1880, but it is now lost.
