This bridge carries the A81 over the Kelty Water.

Visited and photographed by J R Hume, University of Strathclyde, 9 May 1974.

Information from NMRS MS/749/101.

(Location cited as NS 535 963). Cast-iron bridge, Kelty Water, mid-19th century. A curious bridge, with 'cast-iron truss' sides, with circular-section top and bottom members. The cross members are fastened to the sides by wrought iron or steel ties. Now strengthened by a steel support on the concrete piers at the mid-point of the span.

J R Hume 1976.

This bridge spans the parish boundary between the Port of Monteith (to the N) and Drymen (to the S).

Information from RCAHMS (KD), October 2002.
