NF71SE 21 centred 789 115

A township comprising 108 roofed buildings, which include a school and a chapel, six partially roofed buildings, fourteen unroofed buildings, several enclosures and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, South Uist, Barra etc. 1881, sheet lx). One hundred and sixty-eight roofed, nine partially roofed, sixty-nine unroofed buildings, several enclosures and a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
