Location formerly entered as NX 9274 4087 (N54 45 W3 40), and also entered as Unlocated.

Possibly in English waters.

Possibly on map sheet NX93NW.

The LORD DALKEITH, from Pictow to Dumfries, was totally wrecked near Dumfries 26th ult. Nearly the whole of the cargo saved.

Neither Robin Rigg Bank nor the Middle Channel can be accurately located from the available map evidence. The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary, and the loss of this vessel may have occurred in English waters.

The date of loss cited in the primary account is preferred over that cited by Whittaker.

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. UKHO chart no. 1346 (1976, amended 1989) notes Robin Rigg [Bank] around N54 45 W3 40, about 6nm SE of Balcary Point [name: NX 829 493], to the S of Middle Channel, and apparently extending into English waters.
