Archaeology Notes

NH44NE 4 c.47 47.

In the early 19th century an iron axe with the handle, and a portion of a gold (?) sickle were dug out of the moss a little to the W of Loch-nam-Bonnach. The axe and handle are alleged to have "crumbled away in the light and air" and the sickle was lost.
