Field Visit (19 December 1996)

NO20NW 93 2241 0659

A hut-circle, situated immediately S of Bracks plantation, was recorded by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/42, no.2) during a pre-afforestation survey. It measures 12m across from ridge to ridge and is about 0.2m high. Its interior, which is slightly scooped, is about 7m in diameter. No trace of an entrance could be discerned and there is no stonework visible.

Site recorded during a short-notice pre-afforestation survey undertaken by Headland Archaeology Ltd of three small areas of ground (c 33ha).
