Name Book (Perthshire), 1865

The original station at Callander was 'a two-platform affair, not as large as the one that later replaced it'. It was situated 'several hundred yards east' of its successor.

C E J Fryer 1989.

The original station at Callander was opened on 1 July 1858 by the Dunblane, Doune and Callander Rly. It was closed to regular passenger traffic (by the Callander and Oban Rly.) on 1 June 1870 when it was replaced by Callander (Dreadnought) station (NN60NW 68) on the extension of the line towards Killin and Oban.
