Saw Mill (disused) [NAT] (at NO 7719 9594)

OS 1:10,000 map, 1988.

(Location cited [incorrectly] as NO 778 959 and name as Durris Mill). The decaying remains of a substantial 3-storey rubble mill with a sawmill at one end and the kiln at the other. There are two overshot 8-spoke wheels, all iron (except soles), both 16 ft (4.87m) diameter, the sawmill wheel being 4ft (1.22m) wide with rim drive and the meal mill-wheel 3ft (0,91m) wide with axle drive to two pairs of stones.
