Paper Salvage Stores [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1977.

Vertical air photography (106G/SCOT/UK/62 3028-33, flown 8 May 1946) has recorded that the S dispersal area comprises four round-roofed hangars (two of them of types J or K and two of type L), a large rectangular hangar or shed (of uncertain type) and numerous blister hangars. The compound to the NW of Southmoss steading (NO 6245 6946) was probably the runway maintenance facility. These buildings lie outside the present boundary of the airfield, and are in use as a paper salvage store.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 20 August 1997.
