The house now called Whitehouse was once the manse of Corgarff Church, which lies 100m to the north. The New Statistical Account, published in 1845, recorded that it was originally built in 1791, and that substantial alterations were made to the building in 1831.
In addition to the house, there is a U-plan steading, built in 1831 to serve the minister's glebe. This would have been used as a stable and storage; the ministers living here were granted pasture-land to keep a number of sheep.
Corgarrf Church is now part of the larger parish of Strathdon, and there is no need for a resident minister.
