This intermediate station on the Maud Junction-Peterhead branch line of the (former) Great North of Scotland Railway. was opened (as Old Deer and Mintlaw station) on 18 July 1861; it was renamed Mintlaw on 1 Sept 1867 and closed to regular passenger traffic on 3 May 1965.
