Activities

Field Visit (2010)

Glashan dam is a small mass gravity dam which creates daily storage and flow regulation for Loch Gair power station (see separate item). The dam enlarged a pre-existing catchment to provide the storage required for the power station below. This is a relatively small dam of predominantly standard type with limited landscape contribution. PL Payne, 1988, 5; Emma Wood, 2002, 38; J Miller, 2002.
