Archaeology Notes

NH64SW 29 c. 604 430

NH 64/74 OS 604430? No. 24 West of Englishton Muir.

There appear to be the remains of a large cairn a few yards to the south of the forestry road and near a quarry. Further up, the forestry road has cut through a hut circle to the right, where the road takes a swing to the left.

Coghill et al 1989

NH 598 427 (centre) A rapid archaeological survey was undertaken on the site of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme. The survey was partially limited due to existing planting and harvesting. No sites other than those previously recorded were noted.

Full report lodged with Highland SMR and the NMRS.
