An anti-aircraft battery has been identified from vertical air photographs (RAF 106G/Scot/UK 112, flown 1946), 150m NW of the symbol stone (NH66NE 12) which lies immediately to the N of the B817 public road from Alness to Invergordon. The battery consisted of four 3.7-inch guns, and the accomodation camp was situated both to the N and S of the gun emplacements.

(NH 6785 7011) This heavy anti-aircraft battery was situated in a field to the N of the B817 road. No remains could be found on the date of visit. (the quoted NGR has been translated from the military Cassini grid system without reference to the air photographs)
