NH44SE 24 499 440

NH 44/54 OS 499440 No. 77 Balblair Wood.

A roughly circular pit 6 yards x 7 yards and 1 foot 6" deep with

a flat bottom. Close to the east a rampart or turf wall runs S.E. from the foot of the steep bank for 47 yards. It then turns at right angles and runs N.E. for 8 yards.

NH 49930 44080 (centred on) A watching brief was carried out, 27 September – 3 October 2017, during Phase 1C of a quarry extension. No finds or features of archaeological significance were recorded in an area that had been heavily disturbed by trees.
