Strath parish church, built in 1840 and recast in 1925, incorporates the remains of an earlier church, probably of the latter part of the Stuart period. The church of Strath appears as a prebend in 1450.

The Church is old and in bad repair. It is likely that the Presbytery will call upon the Heritors to build a new Church.
